Based on the historic war between the Chu and Han kingdoms, which forms the backdrop of the classic Peking opera Farewell, My Concubine, celebrated choreographer Yang Liping’s dance-theater work UNDER SIEGE explores war and power, betrayal and passion with searing poignancy, with a stunning visual design by Oscar-winner Tim Yip!
Yang Liping Contemporary Dance makes its U.S. premiere at Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival (August 8-10).

About Tim Yip
Tim Yip (葉錦添) is a Chinese art director and designer for fiction films. He is best known for his work on the 2000 martial arts film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, for which he won an Academy Award for Best Art Direction. Yip also won a BAFTA award for the film's costume design.
